dear all,

we were shooting 4k, 3k and 2k footage of commercial.
client has approved offline cuts, so EDL is ready.
we are seeking to conform raw footage into DPX for online process.

the question now is mu post house (they are using ROCKETCINE X) told me they are working on the EDL, and they have to conform all takes from the EDL, instead of locates the exact time code range from the EDL; it generates huge amount of DPX data (over 800Gb)
then, they need to import to online (Flame) with the EDL time code to narrow down the exact cuts of the commercial I actually need.

is it the truth or real deal for me??

I have been charged by time, and it will cost me a lot??

maybe I should get another post house???

please advice.

Thanks!!!

I know that Modern Video in Burbank, CA, has been able to do R3D to DPX for us, for over a year now. Part of their process is proprietary.
