Hi

I'm about to commence study at an institute for film making. The course specialises in Camera Assisting. There are no text books requirements however I have found most people recommend either "The Camera Assistant: A Complete Professional Handbook" by Douglas Hart OR "The Camera Assistant's Manual," by David E. Elkins SOC.

I reallt don't know which one to roll with. Does anyone have a suggestion - which would be the better of the two?

My experience on set has been as split operator and 2nd Assistant on 2nd units.

Thank you!

Buy one of Ebay, read it, sell it, buy the other one.

I have a copy of The Camera Assistant's Manual 4th edition. I haven't loaded film in a very long time!
PM me your address and I'll post it to you.
