Hello dear cinematographers!

I'm honored to participate in this forum with a question regarding to one very important question that might settle interest in many working cinematographers - which is the best tool for storyboard / shot list / call-sheets management including print and export options?

The most important fields would be SHOT/ACTION/LINES/PLACE/CAMERA/LENSES/REQUISITES/COMMENTS and print an ordered list or even a daily schedule.

Thank you dear members for reading this article as I am really concerned about this issue,
Wish you good films and enjoyable time filming!!

With respect,
YANIS SKULME, cinematographer

Yanis,
You need to change your profile name to your real name, as per forum rules.

I think your best and cheapest option for the kind of software that you're looking for will just be Excel (PC) or Numbers (Mac). Just make a template with the fields you need.

Our production company uses Gorilla by Jungle Software. It has a lot of features we needed.
There is also Movie Magic's line of software, but I am not as familiar with them, so I don't know if they do shot lists. But both pieces of software will do the call sheets and reports you mentioned.

A free option is Celtx. We have also used that, and while it doesn't have everything, it can do the call sheets and storyboarding. It's an open source project, and they are constantly adding new and better features.
