Some TV stations in hurricane country have bought these:

The plan is to strap them down real well, and get storm footage from the ones that survive. Full 1080p on an SD card for $270, and underwater capable to boot -- what could we use these for?

Those are fantastic little cameras for the money.
I got easily some shots out of it that where hard to do with any other HD camera.

If you are careful it intercutts nice with other HD material.

I wish they finally come out with that little wireless monitor they announced.

A full quality wireless feed from these would be superb -- You could record remotely and use them as expendable cameras.

Certainly interesting. I just shot them off an e mail asking if they're planning a 24p with a firmware upgrade (25p seems to be forthcoming and one can conform the 25 to 24), also asked them what happens with shutter speed and aperture when it's filming-- e.g. if the camera autos all that and whether or not that can be turned off. I'll let you know when i get a response... I'm considering buying one as I have the perfect shot for it.
