If you're anything like me you enjoy a good BTS spot as much as the film. What I mean by good is a production that isn't a talking heads piece of the actors talking about how much fun they had being ______. I'm talking more along the lines of a piece that shows the FILMMAKERS at work. Examples that come to mind: Pirates of The Caribbean 2 and The Fountain.

Best,

We, who shoot these things for a living, do our best to put the spotlight on everyone BEHIND the scenes. Trust me, we DO shoot the hell out of all of you, but sometimes those who dwell in offices far from working sets seem to think that DVD viewers want to see Actors talking about "character" or other fluff-stuff.

So, if you see boring "character pieces" wasting space on DVD extras, it's not for the lack of trying by Local 600 EPK Cameramen. It's just that once the footage leaves our cameras, it is now in the hands of "studio" marketing teams who think they know what people at home want to see. Sometimes they succeed...sometimes they don't.

But we, in the trenches with all of you, do try. :)
