I want to get some suggestions, i want to get a set of three to four cheap, quality prime lenses. i think still lenses are my best bet considering my budget ($1000-1500). i just want the basics, (35, 50, 85mm, or so) to start out my collection.

thanks

Check out Lomo lenses. They can even be adapted for PL mount. Biggest issue with them is the markings in Meters. Still lenses really wont' be too great for motion picture work, without rehousing-- primarily because of their mechanical design and barrel throw for focus (e.g. a little motion on the barrel is a lot on the focus! no good for pulling really).
