can someone recommend good 1-2 weeks advanced cinematography workshops somewhere in the U.S. ?

I hear good things about the Maine Media Workshops. Also, Kodak used to offer cinematography classes, up in Rochester, though I'm not sure if they still do.

I've recently taken 2 camera workshops in Maine (camera assistant with Doug Hart & camera operator with Rexford Metz), and I cannot recommend the place enough, it's absolutely worth it.
