Hello !

I'm interrested in Nikon Cine-Lenses: How is their quality and look ? Whats the difference between them and normal Nikkor-Lenses for still photography ?

Are Cine-Nikkors not as good as Kern Switar lenses in c-mount ?

Thanks

Id like to know this as well, had a chance to have a set for about a hundred bucks although I doubt they even come close to the newest sitars.

Hi Kevin,
If you don't want them, I do.

Hi tulio,

do you know this lenses ?

I'm very interested in them. How is their look compared to the switars ?

Are there sharper or softer than them ? I don't understand, why
this cine nikkors are so rare and nearly nobody knows anything
about them . . .

I've never heard about Nikon Cine lenses. But there are some companies out who modifi still lenses for filming.

Cheers
Thomas.

Micha,

Take a look:

Nikkor Cine Lenses

More Nikkor Cine

In a Alan Gordon Enterprises catalog from 1985, they list the lenses in C-mount only:

10mm f/1.8 $549
13mm f/1.8 $469
25mm f/1.4 $412
50mm f/1.8 $513
100mm f/2.8 $522

I don't see the lens listed in other major "professional" film suppliers, so, possibly AGE was the sole importer of the Cine lenses to the U.S.

That was about 3 years ago. It would have been about 300 bucks to buy a beaulieu r16 with three nikkors on it. I should have bought them for interests sake but after doing some talking to people they arent that sharp.

I managed to find a set: 10mm / 25mm / 100mm mint as new.they look like they never have been used, therefor the focus rings are stuck, when I find someone who can fix them I will test them against other lenses. I read they were made for the Japanese Air Force for reconnaissance purposes, so they were as sharp as the European crop.
Best,

Tulio

That is a quick test with the Cine-Nikkor 25mm f1.2

I hope to get more of the set to run some additional tests.
