Hi folks,

Please have a look at Bruno Aveillan's Shangri La "Wolves" commercial.

Also look at this:

I am wondering how the DP got that parts-of-the-scene-out-of-focus-and-refracting/reflecting look, while keeping the important subject matter in focus. Also, the constant glares and flares. I would love to re-create this look and am wondering if this was done in camera or in post....???? Also, looking at his still photography slideshow, it looks like it could have been a "bad lens"???

Any guesses?

search for 'louis vuitton' here at the forums - the technique seems to have appended itself to the brand () - accordingly any discussion re. this look can be found by searching for that string

One of the "old school" methods for messing with an image is Vaseline smeared on a clear filter on the lens. If you Google "vaseline on a lens" you'll get hits with examples.
