Has anyone heard of any device to act as a remote on switch for the video function.
I'm thinking it would be great if I could start video from the handheld rig handles rather than scrabbling around at the back of the camera.
I've got a wire remote but this just activates the stills button...not video.

A remote [REC]-button would be a great addition to an otherwise almost perfect camera. I'm using magic lantern on mine and I wonder if it is possible to remap the video-recording button to the shutter release (which isn't used in video mode). This would enable you to start and stop recording using a cable remote zip-tied to the handle of your rig. Since you'd be shooting maual focus anyway, the half-pressed shutter would'nt have any effect.
I might raise the question in the ML forum. These guys have done a brilliant job so far and more than doubled the value of our nice little cams (Thanks to all the devs!)
