I now have a 1K fresnel and it's great, but my lights stand is a little inadequate for its weight (12 lbs). I am thinking of getting a c stand for it but I am also thinking about a more solid light stand that can hold it. What do you think would be best? And can you recommend a light stand?

Rocky Mountain C-Stand so you have the ability to use it on uneven ground.

The C-Stand will hold the 1k

Another option is a Beefy baby stand w/ leveling leg.

A 1K isn't that big. Something like this will be more than adequate and doesn't weigh a ton: http://www.filmtools...ekitlihetr.html I typically use the normal stands that come with the ARRI kits with absolutely no problem. (like this http://www.filmtools...litminkit5.html )
