I know I know Im not supposed to talk about sharpness or resolving power but I wanted to just get an idea of how sharp the f1.8 10-100mm and f2 12.5-75mm lenses were compared to each other and their zeiss and non zeiss prime counterparts of the same era.

is it better to just get a modern video zoom?

The Canon W/A cine zooms were better than the T2 10-100mm Zeiss, the Super Speed Distagons were much sharper.

Modern video zooms are designed to be used with a 3 chip block, so you need an adapter.
