Counteracting Lens Breathing

I'm using a Canon 17-55m for a short, its breathing when focus pulling is pretty noticeable. To counter this i'm shooting at F4 so we don't have to pull as much. Any other tips?

Basically use lenses that don't breath, you can't always increase the DOF and it mightn't always work for longer focal lens. Although, you might be able to bury the lens breathing into camera and/or character action, so you don't notice it.
