Hi guys,
I want to use Zeiss Compact Primes in PL mount on my Arrifles SR1 (with PL mount of course), but I'd like to know if is it possible to do it, since with many large barrel lenses on SR's you hit viewfinder elbow and can't attached them.

I've already tried ELITE 35mm lenses, RED lightweight zooms and RED pro primes, but with bad conclusion.

Here is original statement Zeiss has given to me:

"One of our customers uses the CP.2 lenses on an ARRIFLEX 16 SR3 without any problems."

Has it tried anyone here ??

Thanks for your help :)

Hi,

Did you ever have any success with using CP.2 lenses on your ARRIFLEX?

CP.2s work fine on an SR3, much like standard-sized Ultra Primes, as long as the viewfinder elbow is horizontal or above it won't hit the iris ring.

my god it actually fits... question, how wide can you go before the resolving power of the CP2s falls apart? do you happen to have any scans you've posted / could share?

Do you mean wide as in aperture?

Standard CP.2s are fine wide open, the T1.5 super speeds get a bit softer and lose some contrast but I wouldn't say they fall apart. They're all designed for full frame 35mm not 16mm so they won't resolve quite as finely as the S16 Zeiss Super Speeds or Ultra 16s.

I'm a lens technician, not a DoP, so I don't have any scans. I'm basing my observations mainly on test projection not real world shoots.
