This is the first mainstream release I've seen that has employed this strategy in the United States. Wonder if they'll even have film prints available or this is some sort of video preview garbage, like they did with "Wizard of Oz" (quietly withdrawing prints that represented the pinnacle of a $6 million restoration shortly beforehand). . .

Was the movie any good, or does Mr Cage and Ms Kidman's careers descend even further into the abyss?

Agreed, but I must admit that I did enjoy Knowing.

Brian: Care to elaborate on what this has to do with anything? Or are you saying that "Knowing's" success is due entirely to an actor's acting? I still confess, I don't understand hero worship from people that work in the industry and know how things are actually done on a film set. . .

What happens here is that many theater chains will not show the film at all. Each chain makes their own decision on what to show and many have strict guidelines about streaming. I know, for example, that AMC has a 90 day minimum policy.

"Knowing", like all of Cage's recent work, was junk.

I was merely inquiring as to the quality of the movie. With reference to Mr Cages well publicized slide as far as the quality of his movies recently. No hero worship here.
