Okay, gang. It does look like my Nikon R10 needs servicing. Over the weekend it was not agreeing to shoot at 18fps from time to time. I would pull the trigger and it would click off one frame and that was it. Try again, then it was fine.

This could be repeated under 18fps frequently, but when switching to 24 it was difficult to recreate. It happened just once.

Something is a bit off so I need to have it looked at and as it likely has never received service, a nice tuneup would be the right thing to do.

Duall Camera is located in NYC, but I have recently spoken with two individuals who had negative experiences receiving service from them. I want to look around and see what my options are. I am NOT saying Duall is bad. I am just saying I have two first hand reports of problems to go along with the first hand reports of good service.

Much appreciated.

UPDATED: I really should look into buying a projector. They are HEAVY as heck and expensive to ship, but whatever. Any recommendations for reliable places?

I tried eBay once and it bit me, badly.

But this eBay seller was just pointed out to me. Anybody ever use him?

Check the single frame-continuous switch. The switch on my R8 is a little touchy, and it occasionally goes to the single frame mode even with the switch set to "C". I just flip it back and forth, and that fixes it for another few hundred feet.
