What do you mean? shoot as contrasty as you want, it's art not a technical thig.

I just want to know the limitations and advantages. As I heard there are grains in low light areas, is it true? Some one suggested me to have more intensity and close the iris but I think it is same as to shoot on open iris except the difference of depth of field.

There is noise if you under-expose too far and try to pull it up, as there is with all cameras.

I personally find that treating the RED as any other video camera works just well. I like to shoot a little bit flatter than I normally would with film; expose for my highlights, and crush shadows to taste later on to get the cleanest images. You'd need to sit down with the camera for a test, however, to develop your own aesthetic for the shoot at hand.
