Can someone on this forum recommend a good entry level
LCD production monitor for use with a no-frills 1080p
HD camera?

This would be for production monitoring in the field,
and should be bright enough for outdoor viewing. Need
something adequate for direct-to-DVD feature production.

I am using the JVC GM-HY700 camera, and don't need a
high end monitor like the Panasonic BT-LH910GJ.

Any recommendations on the screen size are welcome
also. (I'm thinking 9" diagonally should be the minimum).

BTW, for those who do need this kind of firepower (e.g.3D
assist capabilities), Panasonic is offering a $500 rebate
on the BT-LH910GJ.

I would take a look at anything that Marshall makes. I've only used the 7" and 5" monitors, but I've taken a look at the larger ones and they are very good. Manhattan Monitors I have heard a pretty good and the TV Logic monitors are really good, but they are really expensive. TV Logics are almost double the price of a Marshall.

I know Image Gear in Toronto have a Marshall 3GSDI on sale - it's a 7" and that really should be sufficient enough for you if you want to cut down on the expense. They also have a Panasonic 1710 for under $2,600. Outside of that the TV Logics are super nice and the 5.6" ones can retail for close to $1,700.
