Anyone having problems finding helium for lighting balloons? Working on a production in B'ham, AL & the closest helium that could be found was in Miami!

Im totally ignorant on this, but what about those festival retailers? Often you can buy packages where you by so and so many party balloons and they throw in the adequate amount of helium for them... toss the balloons and use the helium.

This is just for an example:

Try welding supply outfits. They generally either have in house gas delivery or know local gas firms.

Best of luck,

I was not personally involved in the search, but I believe the people involved would have known where to look. There was talk on the set about a nation wide helium shortage. Just wanted to find out if it was true, or just a rumor that was overblown(pun intended).

No Helium is a finite resource and it's running out (at least the bits we can access anyway for a long time), hence why it's getting quite expensive.

There is about 8 years left of helium before it runs out sadly. The days of the balloon may be numbered.
