I'm looking to find a spherical zoom lens for 35mm with the longest zoom ratio possible. So far, the best we've been able to find is a 25-500mm Tamaha T6.3, and we used a 2x extender to bring it up to 50-1000mm.

We did some tests, and the image is a bit softer than we'd like, but our main priority is finding a lens with a bit more range on each end, ideally 25-35mm on the short end, and as long as we can find (1200 at least) on the long end.

Is there a lens out there that we're missing? We've seen plenty of "super zooms" available for broadcast cameras (40x, 100x, Panavision's 300x), but can't seem to find anything beyond 20x for film cameras.

Any suggestions, no matter the amount of adapters, retrofitting, or jerry-rigging involved, would be most welcome. Thanks.

You can get adapters that all convert 2/3" video lenses to 35mm. http://www.abakus.co..._Converters.htm

I'm Not sure if AbelCine have one, they've one for use on the AF100

I undertand that this company has one that makes use of the x2 built into the video lens http://www.mtfservices.com/
