How would be "BEST" to watch The Hobbit, Reald 3D in High Frame Rate or IMAX 3D in High Frame Rate? How was the movie meant to be shown?

Because I had a lot of respect for the LOTR trilogy and I want to keep it that way. I saw the trailer in the theatre and I'm worried that it will tarnish my previous image of those movies. It looked real cheap and gimmicky and not nearly as good as the LOTR movies which came out over 10 years ago.
