Dear All,

I have come across information recently that informs me that modern day high quality zoom lenses can be found which are capable of correcting the issues which made zoom lenses unappealing to high resolution/high performance applications of the past (i.e. image warp, chromatic aberration).

Does anyone know if this is true or not?

For example it would seem that this type of lens might be considered high quality?

Traditionally we have been using this lens, and are trying to achieve comparable performance at Ultra HD resolutions (i.e. 4096x3048) with something that can do zoom and focus adjustment (1-2x at most).

I'll be doing some brushing up on my optics as I'm a bit out of my realm on this one but a zoom lens would make our lives much easier so I want to give it some serious consideration before it gets openly rejected based on 'previous assumptions'.

Many thanks in advance,

James
