Really like it, but wish the thing weren't so muted. The brightness and colors need to be bumped up a little.

Agreed. Some more color pop would have helped. I think the colors are unnaturally muted. Other than that, nice job.

yeah, i agree. i just didn't do anything to the colours. i just put the clips together and added some music...maybe a bad telecine, or they just stayed muted for me to decide how to change the look?

It is the later. The transfer looks like a flat grade which would give You the ability to grade it further at home or on your own somewheres else. Very easy to do in many different programs.
