I've been in the Outside Broadcasting industry (in Sweden) since I was 17. With late night shifts, long hours and shitty missions, I've been working my way up. I am now 22 years old and contracted as a Digital Image Technician.

All of my work has been in the TV broadcasting industry, sports and entertainment. My work as a 'DIT' on sports events include responsibillity over lightning in studio and flash. I am doing live sports and music shows in HD with up to seven cameras on national TV.

I want to go to school in California, and I want to study cinematography. I graduated highschool as an electrician but my grades are not very good. And since I have not been to school in four years I will probably not succed on a SAT-test. That is why I hope that my experience from the industry will help me.

How valueble is my experiences in a college application? What are my chances at Chapman, USC, UCLA etc?

Best regards,

Christopher

Hi, check the AFI, it's majorly looking for people with a first experience in the industry, while UCLA doesn't (for instance). Your problem will be demonstrating a passion for narrative film making. Chapman may be a good option.
