I received my first CP Ultra T prime today and I love how sharp it is. However, I was concerned when I noticed that when I close the aperature, I see black spots, almost like some kind of dirt, scattered around the frame. I thought it was the lens until I popped in the stock Angenieux and noticed it did the same thing.

Anyone know what is causing this?

Evenly distributed over the frame?
When you stop down you will see the ground glass texture.

If you put a sheet of paper on the wall, illuminate that, go full frame, stop down, how does it look? You could blow the ground glass off a bit with your Rocket bulb stringe first.

Or if it's daytime in Sacramento just point it at the sky.

Cleaned up the path of the viewfinder, from inner glass to ground glass and now everything looks fine. Thanks Gregg.
