I've only used them briefly but they always seemed to have a pretty good price/performance ratio to me. It's been some time since I went near a steadicam, but while they were reasonably popular there was always a concern that you might want focus, iris and zoom all in one box, which Bartech doesn't do; if that isn't your requirement, fine.
