I have a few old 1200 hmi's with the par 64 sb globes. Has anyone here done the conversion to update to the newer se or de bulbs?

If so can you share the details? pictures? What reflector did you use?

I know there a a few places you can pay to have it done.. but wanted to do it myself..

thanks

What did you eventually do with the sealed beam HMI's?

When rental houses were clearing out/selling off the older Arri 1.2 heads, may of this type came on the market.   Always was a story that somewhere, somebody had devised and was selling a socket/reflector/hardware conversion kit.  Never found anyone who could substantiate the myth.

JD,

Still using the sealed beams for now.. I made a lot of calls and found one person who does it for arri and desisti 1200s.

His name is Eddie, phone (818)768-5514.

The conversion with a new globe runs around $650.
