Went to see Star Trek Into Darkness in IMAX and saw a trailer for Man of Steel and it looked real damn good, as did the anamorphic parts of Star Trek. This was surprising to me because I didnt think 35mm looked good blown up onto 70 after having watched The Dark Knight Rises where its anamorphic parts were not only soft but cropped to 1.85:1 from the sides in the process and did not impress me whatsoever.

What could be the reason for the difference in quality?

P. S. I noticed weird specks floating across the screen during the Star Trek presentation (which was dual strip 3D). Is that dust or something?
