I shot a piece awhile back with a 5D. I was holding chandelier crystal in front of the lens to create a nice light diffraction effect.
As well as the effect I noticed they created a nice misty effect on the model, it was an almost milky look to it, definitely smoothed out contrast
but it didn't bloom or halo highlights.
I would like to create the same effect but without the diffraction, just the misty/milky look.
Could someone let me know what kind of Promist or other filter would replicate this?

Many thanks.

The Tiffen UltraCon will lower contrast without halation effects.

The Tiffen Smoque filter creates a vague, hazy halation that also lowers contrast.
