Lens flares in Space Oddity

Hello there,

 

does anyone have an idea how they achieved the lens flares in this video? 

 

 

I doubt that they carried anamorphic lenses and I doubt that they had Vantage Blue Vision Filters up there. Any thoughts?

There are numerous plugins which'll do this. Video Co Pilot makes a  whole flare plugin kit for After Effects for example.

Stumbled upon this thread in a search. These flares were done in Knoll Light Factory in post. (We verified with the director.. and I recognize some of my own presets)
