This question was asked before in 2008 but now 5 years later - what is the best place to get a 16mm print transferred to digital files in New York City.

I know the lab @ postworks was closed to the public.  I guess DuArt is the best right now.

Thanks!

Ed

Metropolis had a Lasergraphics Director scanner which is one of the best machines made these days, I would call them if you want to walk it over there. Otherwise send it to us at Cinelab...'-)

I agree with Rob,

Talk with John (Jack) Rizzo at Metropolis.  They do great work in the NYC area.

And, of course, the new Xena machine at Cinelab is fantastic too.

Both are great and reasonably priced options in your area.

Note that the Director is great for print stocks thanks to their multi-flash technology.  It's on par with if not better than the Arriscan.

The Xena just got a software update which enabled multi-flash HDR BTW which I just used for some very dark and contrasty Tri-X and it worked wonderfully.
