Is a 5k light 5000 watts?

I'm confused.  Please explain.  Are we talking about color temp?  I have plenty of 5k colored lighting that is not 5000 watts so I suppose I am misunderstanding.

Yeah, okay, lights are usually called out by their wattage, not their color temp.

5k wouldn't be a normal color temp for a light. It would most likely be 5,600 or 6,500 Kelvin. Most lights are named for their wattage. If someone is asking for a light by its color temperature, they will ask for a tungsten or daylight fixture.

You could also just call a 5K a Senior ;)

Most of them will be 3200K for their color temp (i'm personally not aware of any 5K Hmis?)
