using 16mm in UK -

Hi All

Can anyone please help me to understand where I can now buy fresh Vision 3 16mm film stock, and also processing and telecine in the UK?

The possibilities seem to be evaporating fast here in the UK!!

I used to buy my stock at Stanley Productions (they have packed up and now the new incarnation of this company no longer stocks film), and I cant seem to find any processing labs at all!

Can anyone please help?

You can buy Kodak stock from Kodak and you can still buy Fuji stock from http://www.filmstockclearance.com
You can process in either i-dailies or at cine labs. Telecine/neg scan can still be done at quite a few of the post houses and at both labs.

the widescreen center sells 100ft loads over the counter if that's of any help

Thanks for the tips Stephen.
The college has been using Deluxe 142, since Chrysalis/Todd AO/Ascent Media/Soho Images and iLab went out of business.
Glad to hear of some alternatives :)

Another lab that people overlook and I've used recently is http://www.film-photo.com. they're still do black and white and reversal. 

 

The guy that runs it is a really nice chap, he was really helpful and gave us a good deal for developing. 

 

The lab itself is not far from i-dailies.

I have bought 16mm film off Ebay, other DP’s and I know you can buy from the UK Panastore, as well as the Widescreen Centre, Fujifilm is still available through Frame 24 [film stock clearance]. I use Cinelab [formerly Bucks lab], they do a great job and can process colour as well as black and white negative, they can now do 4K transfers in-house. I know of other labs such as Prestech, Film and Photo and Idailies who process 16 and 35mm.
