I bought a nikon 35mm dx to connect to my 5d mkiii but when I move the focus the shutter is seen on screen. Is there any reason for this? I've being looking for answered everywhere.

Sorry I'm new to this site. How do I add an image? I only have my phone to hand to add images via the internet so I'm using my phone.

The image is cut off on each corner. It looks like the beginning of a James Bond sequence.

Vignetting then?

Is the DX lens designed for a full-frame sensor like the 5D mkIII?

I have the dx 50mm and it works fine and lots of people have mentioned mounting their 35mm to the 5d.

Nikon DX is an APS-C size format, approximately 24x16 mm.

http://en.wikipedia....Nikon_DX_format

Canon 5D is full frame, 36x24 mm sensor. Most if not all DX lenses will vignette on a 5D. As far as I'm aware there is no Nikon DX 50mm, just FX.
