I wanted to share this fantastic article on the question "What’s the best professional advice you’ve ever received?" which was often asked in American Cinematographer:

Really, really great advice here much of which are the perfect answers to some threads we have here sometimes.

 

However I think my favourite answer was:

 

 

‘Keep it simple.’ It’s always exciting to try a new piece of gear, but sometimes two grips pulling a camera on a blanket is still the best solution. - Glen MacPherson, ASC
 

 

I'm not familiar with the blanket shot tho! Can anyone tell me more! Sounds great!

Freya you stick your arse on the blanket on the floor and are pulled around by the grips .

Generally handheld. You can put it on the dolly, but the grips really don't like it...
