I've just been finishing up an article about how Panasonic have a new handheld P2 camera that can record to off the shelf SD cards at up to 50Mbp/s and turned to the front page to discover David had posted this article:

Here's hoping other manufacturers follow suit about time something like this started to happen.

 

So how long till we get a Android OS budget camera...

Turns out that according to Sony, ProRes will only be available in HD/2K. They will use XAVC as their preferred codec for 4K on the F55 camera.

Yes, XAVC would be used for 4K on Sony F5/F55. Want to work with your 4K videos from Sony on Mac OS X in Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, iMovie, etc. You'd better get a professional 4K Video Converter for Mac.
