I am trying to put together a package of two high def video cameras to be mounted on a wheelhouse of a fishing boat.

We want to have these on the roof of the cockpit and then when  someone hooks a fish, we want a large panic button that someone will press to start the recording.

At first thought, it seemed as though this would be all easy catalog stuff.  Maybe I am just asking the wrong questions.

We can manually set the direction of the cameras, set the area and focus while at the dock.  But we hope that once the settings are done we will never have to touch the camera for the rest of the trip, or maybe the season.

The DVR is the place where we want to pull all the footage.

I do not have any problem with the start button and that side.  I do work with the Arduino micro-controller.

If you can give me any pointers,  equipment ?
