i am making a film on DV and for post i hv options between machines like velocity, media100, FCP & Avid Xpress wat i want to knw is that in India i pay double for avid and FCP as compared to velocity and media 100 so wud dere b a difference in quality too if not then wat am i paying double for coz my film wud hv basic cut to cut editing its jus good quality am craving for

The rates you are being quoted - does that include the editor? Its just that if you have a good cut or a bad cut of your film, that will be down to the person choosing where to place the cut, not what machine is actually perfoming the cut.

Also check what is included. For example, on the cheaper rate will they charge you extra for your tape deck etc?
