When you guys work with a music artist for a music video for post production, do you guys usually have them there working and editing with you? Or as a director you do everything and present them with what you have?

I've never had a band ask to sit in on an edit, but they will give notes on versions.  On my last music video, the only time I spoke directly with the band was on set.  Before and after that, all lines of communication about anything were between my producer and their label.

The very last thing you ever want is for "the client" to be in the room with you while an edit is taking place. Having them there will increase the length of time to do the edit by a factor of 10.
