Hi guys,

i just watched memnto and loved the black and white scenes, but what i dont get is that he's lit by the big  window but he has these sharp shadows so i suppose they're hanging a fresnel or something on top of the window to give this shadow and the harsh light on his face.

He's lit with a hard source from outside the window, which looks as if it is partially diffused by sheers on the window. You can see this in the difference in intensity and softness of the slash of light on the bed.

You can tell that it is a light outside the window just a little higher than his head by the angle of the shadows that the window and his head create on the wall.
