Hi all.

I recently converted my 16bl to 4-pin XLR as the old 9-pin got weary. But as I plugged in the battery, it suddenly did a 35-36 FPS! I've tried with a couple of different 12v batteries, but same result.

Does anyone have an idea what may cause the problem, and how to fix this?

The camera's all standard. Did a constant 24fps before.

Any help is welcome.

Kind regards.

Could be that the motor transistor has shorted out and the motor is just running at full speed, no longer governed to 3000 rpm.

Thanks Dom. That might just be it!

Do you know the transistor's specifications? I'd like to try to replace it.

I don't think I have any schematics. An ID should be written on the transistor, you might have to Google it to find if there's a modern replacement. I haven't worked much on 16BLs, and the last time was years ago, so take this advice as speculative..

Thanks again, Dom. Just spoke witha friend of mine who works with electric components. He said any transistor, with the correct specification, will work. Popping the camera open today to get the ID. Thanks.

Not sure if you need it, but you can find the manual for the camera here: http://www.my16mm.co...arri16BLman.pdf
