hello all

anyone who might be able to advice me as how i can create an in camera scope effect will be blessing. i need to create sharp cross hairs, tick marks etc. while on a 300mm lens. i think it would need to be right on the film plane. i assume it's been done. everythings been done right? maybe not but surely this has.

let me know what you think

thanks loads

Hi,

If it was me I'd use the opportunity to do it as a standard-def video effect and reshoot it off a monitor - even perhaps try to have it create an interesting flicker effect, and do something else fun, like turn the camera around 90 degrees and have it scan vertically as so much military gear seems to do. Perfectly legitimate to do this - real nightvision scopes don't have the resolution of a VHS camcorder, let alone 35mm.
