Hello,

Does anyone here have experience of working with Hawk APO Anamorphic lenses?

Even better, is anyone able to point me to tests or projects shot on these lenses?

Many Thanks,

Ian

Hi Ian,

I shot a short - film on the Hawk a while back (2009 or 2010 I can't remember) with Epic to test the Epic + anamorphic combination (first time in Spain)

I didn't like the flares.

On the other hand, the regular ones are quite heavy which is good for studio shoots but horrible for hand - held and I'm a big fan of heavy balanced cameras but the normal Hawks are too much.

I have worked on several commercials where we used the Hawks too and, again, never liked the way they flare.

Blood Diamond was shot on Hawks too and it looks amazing though!

Have a good day!
