Hey guys, I was going through Shane Hurlbut's website and i found this image. Was wondering what light setup was used for this specific shot.

It says he used 24 Maxi Brute bounced on 8'X8' ... for the fill light

and i assume maybe a 10k tungsten spot for the backlight....

Regards,

Z

It's a large high frontal source (look at the shadows) that also has specular qualities (Ultrabounce makes sense, look at the sheen in the skin). Looks like Shane might have put a 1/2 blue gel on the Maxi. The edge light appears to be a large tungsten fresnel, it would have to be fairly punchy to complete with the Maxi-Brute.

Welcome to Hollywood.

This may well have been tighter coverage from a much wider master shot, hence the large sources.
