Respected Cinematographers,

I'm doing a project in which the script has a requirement of a suicide scene. The character needs to be hanged off the ceiling. Since its a small scale project, I would be really thankful to you all if you could me me out with this that how can I shoot the suicide scene.

Regards,

Rachit Sahni.

Hire a stunt coordinator who knows how to rig a harness with a safety cable, otherwise don't try this unless it is just a waist-down shot of the feet dropping and kicking, then going still, which can be done with actor just grabbing an overhead bar (make sure the bar can take his weight.)

Asked earlier this year: http://www.cinematog...l=&fromsearch=1

I though Carl had the best idea, don't show it all!

Plus one on Satsuki,  without even looking at his link.

I had a sister and a good friend who went that way.  I think many film makers may explore this thing too lightly,  meaning,  without much experience of the impact of it on  the life of others,  let alone the deeper life of the protagonist.  It's shocking.  The ecclectic and indifferent may want to exploit it for that.

What we see we metabolize,  we absorb and become a little bit like that.  Not that we will nescessarily suffer that fate,  but some quality of that,  some notion of that will be infused into us,  then propogated further.

Not that one can't develop a theme where this thing has a legitimate place,  just that people very rarely do,  so I don't assume that they are.

EDIT:  I misread Satsuki.  I thought the idea was to not show it at all,  rather than to not show it.

So maybe I need new glasses,  but my thoughts are the same.
