Hi everyone,

Does anyone here have experience using the Sony BVP950P camera? The powers that be at the channel that I work for have bought 3 second hand ones  a few weeks ago (which I don't think was such a great idea, but anyway...).I think that I'm beginning to see the reason why the supplier  was so eager to give them away at a big discount!:D. If you have used this model before, what has your experience been? What are the pros and cons?

Not sure if I've used one, I don't do much video studio or outside broadcast work. so the camera may have merged into a "Sony", rather than a "Thompson/Grass Valley". There';ll be a lot of these around because the European broadcasters have gone (or going) HD. From the long working life Sony broadcast cameras I've had dealings with, they hold up pretty well, although if they've had a hard life may need the care of maintance department.

The Sony studio cameras that I've used have been fine, my only thoughts concern the lens remotes, rather than the camera itself.
