I have seen multiple IMDB credits of being Videographer on feature film sets. What is it actually? Is it behind-the-scenes camera or what does it mean?

Thanks!

Videographer is a term used by some video camera people for their job instead of cinematographer.

Most likely it's for behind the scenes (BTS) or electronic press kit (EPK) shooting.

I searched under "videographer" on IMDB and yet going through the first several hits, I could not find a crew credit listed for "videographer" -- I'll have to assume the word is buried somewhere in a user review or something, which is why it came up.

So I'd have to see some examples in order to answer your question.

If there is no credit for cinematographer, then perhaps they gave that person the title of videographer, but if a cinematographer is listed, then it is more likely that the videographer listed below that in the crew was mainly there to shoot BTS footage.

Yep, seems like a credit for a shooting BTS footage. Example this guy is credited as a videographer from Mad Max: http://www.imdb.com/...=ttfc_fc_cr1046
