Hey guys ,

Ill be shooting a film in mexico soon, the film is a bit like a combination of The Hangover or Due date.

Im in the process of finding the right style for the film, going through different films shot in mexico.

Just wanted to know if y'all had any suggestions for any films in the past 5 years or so shot in mexico that has a good style that left you an impression, and it'll be better if it was shot on anamorphic too.

Thanks!

Neill Blomkamp shot the 'post apocalypitic' earth scenes in a 'poor' neighborhood and dump near Mexico City, for the film "Elysium"(2013). The 'heavenly' Elysium was shot in the Vancouver British Columbia area.

IMDB lists a number of cameras used as well as attendant lenses.

Of course the Mexico City neighborhood used was chosen for it's 'poorness'. For a film like "The Hangover" or the like... perhaps you'd want to choose a more 'upscale' area... unless of course the 'gang of guys' and their exploits end them up on a less than save area...

"Cantinflas"(2014) is a recent film biopic with the famous Spanish language comedian who won a best actor Oscar in 1957 for his role in "Around the World in 80 Days"(1956), shot in Todd AO... in fact, so 'shot' that it looks more like a travelogue that a film... but I digress...

"Instructions Not Included"(2013) is perhaps more in keeping with a 'comedy' trope...

Vancouver, BC, Canada, the most heavenly place on earth?

R,

Well, I've not been to Mexico City... but use to go to Tijuana, BC, Mexico regularly when dear old dad lived there... and relative to various places in Tijuana... anywhere in BC Canada could be considered 'heavenly'... even if one froze to death in the mountains...
