I started out shooting with still lenses, got a Rokinon cine prime, and haven't been able to look back. When trying to get a cine zoom, I noticed the used price for most was a few thousand dollars. On eBay, I saw for around only $1000 flat, the Angenieux 10x12B 12-120mm zoom lens.

The lower cost has to come at some quality expense, so I was wondering what I'm losing in contrast to a more expensive cine zoom like the Zeiss CZ.2 for example.

Also, if this is one to avoid, are there any other relatively inexpensive cine zooms to check out, or maybe some still zooms that can still bring a great image?

Thanks.

The 12-120mm is designed to cover the 16mm frame only. What camera are you using?

Sony F3. With its super35 sensor, I'm guess I'm out of luck for this one?

Well, the F3 has a cropped sensor mode, doesn't it?

Unfortunately I'm not sure, just bought the camera online, was looking for lenses to compliment it.
