I have a rough cut of a short in Premiere currently the cut just has camera audio in the timeline. However I have audio from an external recorder that i want to sync up. I know in the browser you can select an audio clip and a video clip and merge them into one clip and premiere will use the waveform to sync them correctly. but is there a way where i can sync the audio to the clips in the timeline without having to re edit?

I use Pluraleyes from Red Giant, and it works well. My understanding is that as long as you have a scratch track recorded in camera, Premiere can 'sync' the audio without need for a third party plugin, but I have never done this. However, if you don't have a scratch track recorded along with the video track, then I'm afraid the only way I know of to sync the audio is the good old fashioned way - matching with the production slate.

I used the Premiere sync and it worked pretty darn good. However i had to restart my edit from scratch. Lesson learned do all the work you have to do before editing ha. I got to excited and edited before syncing. My biggest question was if i could sync the audio tracks from the separate recorder to the edit i had in the timeline.
I need to check out pluraleyes I have only heard good things!
